SIMULATION BASED ASSESSMENT - Level 3 Award in Energy Awareness 6281-01 - 18 November 2025

This form is to book PART 1 (Simulation-based Assessment) of the new Level 3 Award in Energy Awareness 6281-01 assessment. PART 2 (Open Book Written Assessment) will be released to learners upon successful completion of the simulation.
Learners must be enrolled onto the Energy Awareness 6281-01 course before booking an assessment. Without the course enrolment learners will not have access to the course materials to study. If you have not yet enrolled onto the course, please contact trainingadmin@nea.org.uk

SPECIAL LEARNING REQUIREMENTS

Exam Access Arrangements (EAAs) are the reasonable adjustments that can be made for a candidate to access an assessment. This might include things like extra time, permission to use assistive technology, provision of rest breaks and so on.

Access arrangements can be applied in certain circumstances such as for learners with special educational needs, disabilities, temporary injuries/illnesses and so on.

Arrangements must be made in advance of the assessment day as outlined in your original course joining instructions. This involves submitting a 'learning support' request that will be reviewed by NEA. Formal evidence may also be required. CLICK HERE FOR FURTHER DETAILS

REQUIREMENTS TO JOIN THE ONLINE ASSESSMENT

The simulation-based assessment will be delivered online via Zoom.

Learners must have access to a quiet, private space.

A laptop or desktop computer with a separate mouse and a stable internet connection is required.

FEES

FULL ASSESSMENT – FIRST ATTEMPT
If you are completing the course via E-Learning, the assessment fee is generally included in the overall course fee so there won’t be an additional charge for the assessment unless otherwise advised.
If you received a funded place from NEA, the assessment fee is also included but must take place within the timeframe agreed at the point of booking unless otherwise agreed. Any assessments that take place outside of the funding period may be charged.
If you attended a face-to-face course, fees and payment will be agreed separately.
RE-SIT ASSESSMENT
If you received a funded place from NEA, the cost of the first re-sit will also be funded if taken within the timeframe of the project. Most projects run per financial year (1st April - 31 March) however, some may be different in which case, learners will be advised of the deadline. Any re-sits taken after the end of the project or additional re-sits will be charged and we will contact you separately to make arrangements.
If you did not receive a funded place, the following re-sit fees will apply:
> NOT FOR PROFIT ORGANISATION - 1 PART RE-SIT (Simulation) = £55 plus VAT
> NOT FOR PROFIT ORGANISATION - 2 PART RE-SIT (Simulation and open book written assessment) = £90 plus VAT*
> COMMERCIAL ORGANISATION - 1 PART RE-SIT (Simulation) = £110 plus VAT
> COMMERCIAL ORGANISATION - 2 PART RE-SIT (Simulation and open book written assessment) = £180 plus VAT*
*Where needed, the open book assessment re-sit must be booked separately to the simulation.
A certificate fee may also apply if not covered in original course fee.
Where payment is required, NEA will contact you separately ahead of the assessment date to make arrangements.

CANCELLATION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The exam fee is generally included in the overall course fee. As outlined in the main course booking form, the following cancellation periods / charges will apply should the learner wish to cancel their chosen exam date once booked:
· Less than one weeks notice 75% of the fee will be payable
· Less than three weeks notice 50% of the fee will be payable
· Over three weeks notice will not incur a charge
· Funded place – If you received a funded E-Learning place direct from National Energy Action, the cost of your assessment is also funded but must be taken by the deadline outlined in your course joining instructions unless otherwise agreed in advance. Any assessments taken after the deadline or re-sits may be charged. If you are unsure, please check with NEA.
If are unable to attend, please advise NEA at least three weeks prior to the exam date so your place can be re-allocated. Failure to do so can impact on funding and we may be unable to re-book a funded exam place for you. Cancellations should be made in writing.

DATA PROTECTION

National Energy Action collects personal information when you book on to a training or assessment event; this is used to provide the services requested; report to funders (if necessary); and to evaluate our services. We will not share your details with any other third parties without your consent. By submitting your booking form, you are agreeing to these terms.

If requested, National Energy Action would like to share your exam result with the organisation that booked you on to this course (i.e. your training provider/employer) for the purposes of processing/supporting your learning. It is your choice if you are willing to share the exam results with them, and you can change your mind and opt out at any point.
