Help families in fuel poverty this summer

Fuel poverty doesn’t take a holiday. While many of us are planning trips and family activities, millions of families across the UK are struggling to cover basic energy costs, even in the summer.

The summer holidays can be especially hard for parents: more mouths to feed, higher childcare costs, and no break from rising energy bills. For families living in fuel poverty, it’s a constant challenge to keep their homes safe and warm.

This July and August, we’re aiming to raise £10,000 to top up the energy meters of struggling families. Will you join us?

How You Can Help

Your donation could help fund energy vouchers and crisis support for families who need them most. Your gift will help us to provide real, practical support for families who are living in cold homes or worried about their bills.

Who you’ll be helping

Across the UK, many vulnerable people are living in fuel poverty, including single-parent families, older people, and those with health conditions that make them especially at risk.

With your support, we can top up the energy meters for these families and help them stay safe and well this summer and beyond.

We asked some of our advice clients what they struggled with during the summer months:

‘I’m single mum, I have three children – that’s why I’m really struggling with cost of living and one child has special needs.’

‘The cost of electric, when I’m having to wash clothes daily because I have three children and work a part-time job so need a clean uniform too. On the rubbish weather days, I had to dry my clothes in the dryer so it all used electricity.’

‘I am on a prepay meter and my bills have tripled. My children use different lights and music throughout the evening as they are autistic and have a range of sensory issues. If the electric goes off, I have to beg and borrow.’

Together, we can top up the meter and support families who need it most.
