NEA’s Response to the Ofgem Consultation on their Forward Work Programme 2021/23 Gas Levy. NEA believes that Ofgem should provide clarity on the actions they will take in the next year of their consumer vulnerability strategy, including actions to:
- Improve the identification of financial vulnerability
- Ensure that, beyond forbearance, energy debt is addressed by suppliers in a systematic and effective manner
- Improve the accessibility and awareness of existing support schemes
- Maximise network companies’ role in tackling fuel poverty
- Enforce the Vulnerability Principle (SLC0) and Ability to Pay Principles
- Support BEIS to deliver fuel poverty commitments
