Lived experiences of
FUEL POVERTY
Agnes and Phillip
We helped Agnes and Phillip, who are both medically dependent on energy. Our team provided emergency support and access to benefits. Phillip has a terminal illness; we’re so glad they can now focus on their time together, not on whether they can pay their bills.
Teresa
We helped Teresa, a full time carer for her son navigate changes to her son’s benefits. For nine months, they hadn’t been receiving what they were entitled to. Then, our Benefits team got the payments re-instated at a higher rate and got the family access to a mobility car.
Jade
When Jade was rationing food and energy due to prioritising caring for her two rescue dogs, we helped her with a benefits entitlement check and a referral to her local food bank and Pet Food Bank UK.
John
Find out how we helped John, who is a full-time carer for his partner. We provided debt relief and additional support to John because his husband was medically reliant on electricity.
Hakeem
Find our how we provided tailored energy advice to Hakeem, who spoke limited English. We helped him navigate and change things following the discovery of an accidental billing issue, resulting in an incorrect bill of over £1,500.
We’re so thankful to our clients who have shared their story directly with us.
