Health and Social Care Organisations

Supporting healthier homes and healthier lives

National Energy Action works in close partnership with health and social care organisations to tackle the links between cold homes, fuel poverty, and poor health. We work to embed energy advice and support within health and social care systems and build staff confidence around fuel poverty, so the people at most risk can live in warmer, safer, and healthier homes.

Everything we do is rooted in collaboration, working alongside NHS teams, local authorities, Integrated Care Systems, and voluntary sector partners to deliver lasting impact for communities, including:

  • Reducing health inequalities linked to fuel poverty and cold homes
  • Easing winter pressures on health services by preventing cold-related illness and hospital admissions
  • Embedding energy advice and referrals into everyday health and care pathways
  • Delivering measurable social value, supporting both public health outcomes and net zero goals

Our collaborative programmes, such as Warm Homes, Healthy Futures, demonstrate how health, housing, and energy sectors can work together to achieve real change for vulnerable households.

Training on Fuel Poverty, Health and Energy Advice

We deliver flexible, accredited training to help frontline professionals identify and support people living in cold, damp, or energy-inefficient homes. Designed for those working in health, housing, social care, and community services, our courses build the skills and confidence needed to tackle fuel poverty and improve wellbeing.

Our training is available online or in-person and can be tailored to meet the needs of your team or organisation, whether you’re looking for a one-off session or a programme integrated into wider staff development.

Education and Awareness

National Energy Action’s education programmes work with schools, families, and community groups to build awareness of how energy use affects health and wellbeing.

We help inspire behaviour change, strengthen household energy resilience, and empower communities to take practical steps towards warmer, healthier living environments.

Partnership Building and Integration

NEA brings together partners from health, housing, and energy to design joined-up approaches that make best use of existing services.

We support Integrated Care Boards, local authorities, and public health teams to align activity, share resources, and embed energy interventions into local health and wellbeing strategies.

Community Engagement and Support

Our outreach work connects directly with residents, raising awareness of the health impacts of cold homes and linking them to practical energy and financial support.

Where partners already lead community engagement, NEA complements and enhances their work, ensuring collaboration and impact without duplication.
