Research and insights
How we measure our impact
Together research and insights provide critical insights on the scale, nature and depth energy vulnerability and how it affects people’s lives, particularly those in marginalised or underserved communities.
Through our programmes of research, evaluation and harnessing of data, we capture understanding, impacts and the lived experiences as well as identifying systemic barriers.
This helps to shape interventions to address fuel poverty that are not only effective but also socially just, drive innovation in our services and strengthens the organisation’s advocacy and practical delivery, ensuring that policy and practice are grounded in the realities of those most affected and shaping action that is credible and compassionate.
We combine qualitative approaches, such as interviews, focus groups, and ethnographic studies, with rigorous quantitative data collection and analysis.
This dual approach means we can explore both the human stories and the statistical patterns to produce robust and actionable insights to shape and further our strategic aims, and inform policy and practice, contributing National Energy Action’s voice to wider debates of social and energy justice, poverty and inequality.
